Scary: Birchenough Bridge may collapse any time from now. Manica Post reports that there is a boom gate at each end of the bridge that prevents more than one large vehicle from driving across at any given time might collapse. The state-run publication also reports that there are cracks on both ends of the bridge’s tarmac entry points while the structure shakes each time heavy vehicles drive past. Authorities have effected weight restrictions at the Birchenough Bridge as assessments of the structure revealed that it could collapse if weight restrictions were not enforced.
