Police preliminary investigation revealed that on February 26, 2021, an argument, over the payment of electricity bills, ensued betweenthe duo which led to a fight. Magunje Police have arrested one Ms. Tinashe Shumba, for allegedly beating her mom’s male tenant to death, over electricity bills. HUNGRY villagers Wednesday scrambled to loot free loaves of bread from a Lobels Bread delivery truck that had been involved in an accident with another truck at Buffalo Downs where three people died. The incident happened at Buffalo Downs, a few kilometres outside Karoi Wednesday morning. A truck driver sustained serious burns when his fuel tanker caught fire after sideswiping another vehicle in Nyazura on Wednesday. The Harare-bound truck was carrying 42 000 litres of petrol worth over US$50 000 when it caught fire at the settlement located about 150km south-east of Harare. Police said a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle encroached into the tanker’s lane, leading to the sideswipe. No fatalities were reported, and the trucker is in stable condition, police further stated. Residents of Damofalls have expressed concern over the rise in burglary cases in the area. Burglars are reportedly using the same method of cutting burglar bars and are targeting television sets mostly. A 42-YEAR-OLD man from Brunapeg in Mangwe district, Matabeleland South province has been arrested after he killed his brother for trying to restrain him from assaulting their mother. Thabani Moyo of Fanyana Moyo’s homestead New Line 1 in Brunapeg, killed his younger brother Jonathan Moyo (40) from the same homestead last Wednesday. Matabeleland South police provincial spokesperson Inspector Loveness Mangena confirmed the incident that has left villagers shell shocked. She urged members of the public to refrain from abusing alcohol. “If there are misunderstandings, they should engage each other soberly and in an amicable way. “This can be done through engaging third parties that include the police, local leadership and pastors,” said Insp Mangena.
Government has suspended the Zimbabwe Examinations Council (Zimsec) June 2021 Ordinary and Advanced Level Examinations. The next examinations will be in November 2021. The development was announced by the minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Senator Monica Mutsvangwa during Wednesday’s post-Cabinet briefings in Harare. The Ministry of Information posted on social media saying this suspension will allow for timely focus on the November 2021 examination preparations.
