Importation of some 2nd-hand vehicles now needs an import licence. The government has issued Statutory Instrument 89 of 2021 which among other things notes that the importation of second-hand vehicles aged 10 years and above would require an Import Licence from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. VID to allow automatic cars during road tests drive. GOVERNMENT says it is considering allowing the use of automatic cars for Vehicle Inspectorate Department (VID) road tests after the country recorded an increase in the importation of used Japanese vehicles since 2009.
