Cabinet Reviews Passport Fees ma yuwesi see new prices

Cabinet this Wednesday reviewed fees for ordinary passports to USD$60 or Zimbabwe Dollar equivalent and USD$200 for three-day passports. The government said this was one of a cocktail of measures put in place to clear the passport backlog that dates back to 2018. Reports suggest that there are about 256 000 passports that need to be processed.

Man caught on CCTV stealing in Borrowdale. An unidentified man was caught on CCTV breaking into houses in Borrowdale where he allegedly stole US$20 000, laptops and cellphones. Award-winning journalist, Hopewell Chin’onoforwarded the message that claimed the man had tried to steal again last night. Nurse Duped $59k Salary Using “Chadonha” Trick

A Zaka nurse who had gone to withdraw her salary in Chiredzi recently, lost $59 000 when she fell prey to an age-old trick called “chadonha” used by conmen to swindle people of their hard-earned cash. One of the suspected conman was accounted for and the matter was brought before Chiredzi Magistrate Simbarashe Gundani on Tuesday 30 March 2020. It is in the State case that on March 16, 2021, Matswe Makadei, a registered nurse based at Bota Clinic in Chivamba was in Chiredzi to withdraw part of her salary from the bank. 2 men kill their neighbour for stealing clothes from a washing line. The accused, Blessing Zikhali, was later admitted to Mpilo Central Hospital where he died due to serious injuries from beatings by Farai Fero and Fortune Ngwenya. Two Bulawayo men from Pumula South suburb were arrested Wednesday arrested for fatally assaulting their neighbour whom they accused of stealing clothes from their washing line. It is reported that after beating Zikhali, the two men escorted the now deceased to ZRP Pumula station where the police called an ambulance to take him to the hospital.  A ZIMBABWE United Passenger Company (Zupco) employee (23) has been left traumatized after she was gang-r_aped by four men at her home in Emthunzini suburb on the outskirts of Bulawayo in the presence of her male cousin (22). The unknown r_apists attacked the woman, whose name has been withheld, on Monday last week at about 2.30 AM while she was going to work. 9 have died so far in Easter Holiday accidents. The national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said there was almost a 50 per cent increase compared to the corresponding period last year. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported that the number of people who have to date died during this year’s Easter Holiday has risen to nine (9) which is higher than last year’s. Just In: First Lady Mai Mnangagwa’s Motorcade Biker Dies In Crash

 A Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) executive escort motorbike outrider (name withheld), who was leading First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s motorcade, died on the spot this afternoon after colliding head-on with an oncoming vehicle, a Toyota Altezza. The horrific accident reportedly occurred as the First Lady was returning to Harare from Mhangura where she had gone to make a donation. Sources said the traffic police officer sustained serious injuries in the crash that occurred at a spot popularly known as ‘PaJones’ which is between Lion’s Den and Chinhoyi late afternoon this Easter Friday.
