A female armed robber was gunned down following a high-speed chase and shootout with police detectives in Kuwadzana, Harare, on Wednesday. Pothole kills 84-year-old Mount Darwin woman. Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the accident. An 84-year-old Mount Darwinwoman died on the spot when a Nissan lorry she was travelling in hit a pothole and veered off the road before falling in a ditch yesterday. “I can confirm a fatal road accident along Glendale – Centenary highway where Sangras Maswi died on the spot, ” Mundembe said. Allegations are that a 15-year-old minor was driving the lorry with five passengers on board when he hit a pothole and failed to control the truck. He will also hand over computers for public sector workers manufactured by the Zimbabwe Technology Company (ZITCO). ZITCO is a joint venture between TelOne, Chinese company Inspur and a Government-owned entity and is involved in the assembling of computers, laptops, tablets and other technological gadgets. A man from Dzimbi Village under Chief Chirumhanzu in Mvuma learned the hard way that not all prophets are men of God after a man of cloth advised him to bring his money to the shrine so he could pray for it. The money then disappeared at the holy place. Patrick Musasa (55) told his client Joseph Muchakata to bring his US$6 000 to the shrine because there were evil spirits after it. He said prayers at the shrine would ensure that the money was safe.
